I worked with a graduate bioengineering student at Rice University to communicate his research on the technological benefits of the DeepDOF microscope.
Traditional microscopy normally requires a trade-off between
depth-of-field (DOF) and spatial resolution, while DeepDOF is a computational microscope that breaks free from this constraint, saving time and resources.

My role was to communicate the traditional standard of care process in an engaging and informative way:
Illustrated Graphics
Color Choice: Deep DOF slide imaging often appears with pink and purple tones, as did images of the graduate student's research. To maintain a consistent color theme throughout the presentation, I chose to illustrate the icons using these same shades.
Style Choice: In this flowchart, it was more important for the graphics to be engaging rather than visually precise. As a result, I used a cartoonish style with bolder image choices.
Overall, I found this project to be extremely interesting! I liked communicating about images through images -- what a paradox...
